Moving away - Help!

So with my holiday fast approaching (less than two weeks) and that being followed by a move across the country, I'm panicking. I leave my house in two weeks and won't return until christmas, and while I know my uni room won't fit everything I cannot part with so much stuff! Moving five hours away to Leeds means I won't be visiting home much if ever, too expensive to travel down for just a weekend! I've filled a suitcase and a half just with bags and shoes and now I'm worried it wont all fit in my dads car when he drives up to meet me there. Have to leave space for my quilt, pillows, television, kitchen stuff, toiletries, sketchbooks, portfolio, everything!

So now I need clever ideas of how to pack into small spaces, and how to figure out what to take. Any advice? Panicking so much!
Or advice from people who've been to uni on how to store stuff well in my room. Really need ideas for jewellery storage!

Thanks everyone!

p.s as I don't post my outfits on here everyday, I'm going to start posting them on WIWT (more regularly then I used to) even if it's just a rubbish mirror photo, here's my link if you want to follow me! Click here.

had this problem all the time i was at uni, one year ended with my mum holding up the boot whilst i literally shoved things in with a quick shut. don't worry about your bedroom, uni bedrooms are built with storage in mind because they're so small! just be strict with what you take, you find you'll take a lot of stuff you really don't need!

I'm in the same predicament as you, except I'm going from NEW YORK to CALIFORNIA. Urgh, kill me... I don't even know what I was thinking. I'm so stressed about leaving my long term boyfriend/my friends/my family/MY DOGGIES, and then I have to figure out how to get all my shit there. It's a fucking nightmare! Good luck is all I can say, darling!

I'm a 5 hour drive so I'm the same! But my grandma lives right by my uni so I can leave stuff at hers over summers. Just feels like so much stuff to cart across the country! xx

Woahhh big move! I'm going from the south of England to the north so still far apart but not as far aha. I'm sure you'll be fine! My boyfriends lived 4 hours from me for 2 years, i'm moving and will be about an hour from him, so excited, but it definitely can work! Thank you and good luck to you too! Hope you love it! xx

Found you on I moved in October. I have no advice because movers moved me but I know how much of a pain it is. I wish you luck!
