Gluten Free Eats - Fat Hippo Underground - Newcastle

So here's to something a little bit different. After years of bloating and being unwell, I found out a few months ago I'm Gluten Intolerant. It's worth mentioning now, that it's not the same as being Coeliac, but intensities can differ. Switching my diet over has been hard (oh how I love Spaghetti Carbonara), and there's been a lot of trial an error. So as a Gluten-free, Nut-free blogger, I decided it'd be something worth sharing. I'm just going to share suitable restaurants for now, but will try and expand into some healthy & cheap recipes, (gluten free and cheap don't tend to go hand in hand).

One of my favourite things about Fat Hippo are their "Naughty Slushes". Pretty strong but seriously yummy. Could drink them all day! (probably wouldn't end too well!)
We got Potato Skins for starter, which Fat Hippo Sauce and Crispy Bacon. Fat Hippo Happy hour runs 5-7 (I think?) and gives you a great price for 1, 2 or 3 courses, definitely worth the earlier dinner!

If you go here, definitely swap up the triple cooked chips for something else, they're just not that great. I got the Texas BBQ burger (minus the onion rings, which aren't gluten free), the burger bun was amazing, especially for gluten free! It wasn't too dry and was a really good size for the burger! I didn't manage to eat it all before you ask, perhaps just a main next time.
