A few weeks ago I got a very exciting invite to the Cabana Leeds opening. I struggle to find gluten friendly places the further up north I head, it's definitely not as widely promoted as it is down south, so a London chain opening it's doors in Leeds is very welcomed! The menu is HUGE with so many options for all dietary requirements and tastes. There's even a gluten free chocolate pudding!

From entry to the restaurant me and my friend were made to feel incredibly welcome, they ensured that all the waiters were aware of my gluten intolerance and nut allergy so that I wasn't given food that contained either. All of the servers were lovely and chatty and made sure we were never without a drink. The restaurant owner even came over for a chat, and told us all about him and his partners tour around brazil to source all the best recipes for their menu. The event ran for 3 hours, with the first hour consisting of canapés from the starter menu, the second hour of mains, and the final of puddings. And of course, lots of Caiprinha's, which were incredible. The passionfruit one was my favourite! But I'd also highly recommend the Kiwi and the Pineapple ones!

I don't have any images of the mains, but the Steak and Zingy Lime and Garlic Chicken were winners for me! So tasty and amazing. I'm excited to see how they're served as a meal and not canapés, so will definitely be returning soon! We were too full to have deserts and I NEED their Nega Maluca (Brazilian Chocolate Cake) "A rich, dense, flourless chocolate cake topped with Caramel Sauce (doce de elite)" YUM!
At the end of the event we received a bottle of their Malagueta sauce, I've already used mine to try and recreate these prawn's with less success. In my friend Liv's words, "These are the best prawns I've ever eaten." Definitely agree. They were so spicy, but sooooo good.

I was invited to the VIP opening so didn't spend my own money on the visit, but these opinions are genuinely my own and I will definitely be making a return visit!
