I've always been one of those people that HAS to check the restaurants menu before I go. The moment I saw the menu to Roseleaf it was all I could think about. It has so many Gluten Free options across all the menu's and all of them sound incredible.
It's located in Leith, a short 15 minute £1.50 bus ride from Edinburgh centre. It's a really pretty area which I definitely wish I had more time to explore while I was there.
Roseleaf is a small, family run pub, with a really quirky fun feel. Among the food menus there is a "Mad Hatters Tea Party" Afternoon Tea. Bring your own hats or use theirs (the walls are covered in them!). They also do teapot cocktails, and their menu's come hidden in old National Geographic magazines, what's not to love?!

We both went for the burger, the "Royalè with Cheese", which was a Seared Minced Beef & Pork Belly Burger, with cheese, tomato, lettuce and tomato relish. Optional extras include Bacon, Black Pudding, a fried egg or Jalepenos. Mine came between two slices of Toasted GF bread, which was really nice! My boyfriend loved the seeded homemade bun the original comes in too.
As far as burgers go, this one was perfect. Right up there as one of my favourites ever, and I've definitely tried my fair share. The Pork Belly added such an incredible flavour. It was big, juicy and perfectly cooked. I can't even explain how much I want one again just looking at these photos, if you're around Edinburgh and haven't tried Roseleaf yet, go!!!

We ate off the brunch menu as it was an early dinner/late lunch, but many of the dishes cross over to the evening menu too. My only regret is not having time to return for a breakfast here. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at Roseleaf are all going to happen the next time I visit.
For pudding I went for the Rosey Rice Pudding, while my boyfriend went for the Cracking Crumble, both are Gluten Free! My rice pudding was made with winter spices and topped with a caramelised orange zest. Such a perfect wintery pudding that definitely got me in a Christmassy mood. Mmm just look at the caramelised top on that!! (Want & need right now!!)
