A Late Night Stroll in Bath

Hi Guys! So I've been terrible AGAIN, I've had the most manic month and honestly haven't felt like blogging. I've taken lots of photos with good intentions though, so you're getting lots of posts coming up. I'm scheduling a ton today, so this is no lie!

A couple of months ago (yep see, terrible!) I took my boyfriend away to Bath for the weekend. We don't see each other often so when we do it's lovely to get away and do something new. I fell in love with the city, the things to see and of course, places to eat.

We were told by a local to visit the Roman Baths in the evening, not joining the queues in the day. We headed down all ready for dinner to be greeted by an open door with no queue. It was really quiet inside and so incredible. We even hopped onto a tour at the end and had a brilliant tour guide telling us about the Baths, but for the rest of the time, they supplied radios to tell you about each exhibit as you went around.

Gluten Free Eats - Nosh & Quaff, Birmingham

#letsgetmessy

I love seafood but had never tried Lobster, so when Nosh & Quaff opened in Birmingham it seemed the perfect excuse to try out a new restaurant and experience Lobster for the first time. Boy were we in for a treat!

I ordered my Lobster and sides while my boyfriend had a burger. Accompanied by two Mojitos was my apron, lobster cracker thing and a fancy tool to get the meat out. Bring on the challenge!

An Introduction to Clean Living - Naturally Sassy event with AO Life

Hi all, hope you're all well and loving our typical british summer, boo!

A few weeks ago, when the sun was shining, I attended a Clean Living event hosted by AO Life. I arrived late due to work (oops!) but was welcomed with the most amazing juice followed by Yoga and healthy Gluten Free cooking!

This Beetroot, Banana and Honey smoothie was amazing. I personally don't like cubes of ice in my smoothie but after a rush from work was loving having this to help me cool down. Definitely a recipe I'm going to try and recreate at home!

Little Red Dress - Date Night

Finally, an outfit post! Unfortunately my move back home has left me without a photographer buddy so these may be more sparse now but I always post my outfits on Instagram. And even despite my best efforts after my 'Where I've Been' post, I'm still struggling to find time to log on and blog. Here's to trying harder! I'm fast approaching my 200th blog post, and as a late celebration for reaching 2000 Instagram followers, I'm going to be hosting a giveaway across here and my social media platforms so keep tuned!

Possibly one of the best things about my new job - Sample Sales. I picked up this GORGEOUS Topshop dress for a couple of pounds and I'm so in love. I wore it out last night with heels to dress it up, but I think this denim jacket and boot ensemble is a perfect day to day way to wear it.

My wardrobe is slowly filling with red clothes and I'm loving it.

House of Fraser - AW15 Press Day

Perhaps the perfect time to post this as I'm definitely starting to prepare my AW wardrobe. Far too often I've been caught out heading to work in sandals and arriving in London to a rain cloud (or occasionally, all wrapped up in a leather jacket to the blaring sun). A few months ago, yes I know I've been terrible, I attended the House of Fraser Press Day and was blown away. I love summer fashion, but nothing beats a good old wardrobe of camel, burgundy and grey, or a perfect fur gilet, and House of Fraser certainly has it all.

First off, bags galore. With a combination of designer and lower priced brands, there was definitely something for everyone. I'm a sucker for Michael Kors bags, and have got very close to purchasing a few times when I've accepted that my dream Prada Saffiano is out of my price range. There was a key colour palette of shades of red, from bright vibrant reds to deep burgundies and black. I love so many of the bags in this photo that I need to move on before I do some dangerous shopping.

Harvey Nichols Supper Club with Madeleine Shaw - Get The Glow

When Harvey Nichols invited me down to their Supper Club with Madeleine Shaw I jumped at the opportunity. Having followed her on Social Media for a while I'd actually planned on getting her book, Get The Glow, that day. I waited, of course, so that I could get it signed by her on the night, and what a night it was.

The Alchemist

As my days in Leeds are numbered, (waah) I've been revisiting lots of my favourite places to eat and drink and thought it was only fitting to try and share as many as I can on here. I love the Alchemist. I love Living Ventures restaurants/bars in general. In first year my friend Jo worked for them, so received 50% discount on food at all of the brands. Needless to say, we were regulars for lunch at the Alchemist. We visit less now as it's more expensive for us, but I'm always visiting for cocktails.

After a stressful day at Uni we needed a wind down so perched ourselves on a table on the balcony in the sun, ordering some amazing cocktails and the most amazing food. I got the Hot and Cold Expresso Tini, and you can tell from the photos that it was amazing. I love expresso martinis and this was by far one of the best I've tried, plus there's all the exciting dry ice, so I'd definitely recommend it!

A Lush Haul - The City Girls Treats

I'm a huge lover of LUSH, I always have a box of bath bombs to choose from and adore the "Big" shampoo. I've not ventured far into their other products, I once bought a fresh face mask but I was so rubbish and remembering to put it back in the fridge it didn't last too long, but I've really been wanting to try some more of their products, so I was absolutely over the moon when they were at The City Girls event that I mentioned in my previous outfit post. I got my hands dirty making my own Cleanser and learnt all about their new shampoo bars which are reallyyyyy exciting!

Khaki and Fringe

A couple of weekends ago I attended The City Girls event in Sheffield (keep tuned for multiple posts of the amazing goodies we received). It was a brilliant event and I got to meet lots of new faces, and catch up with some old ones too. Lorna and Holly (the organisers) were really friendly and they had some BRILLIANT brands on board, I got my eyebrows done by Benefit, my boobies measured by Panache, to browse the amazing collections that Second Thread stock and even got to make my own Face Mask with Lush! Me and some of the girls lugged our heavy bags of treats back to Sheffield station, stopping half the way to take some outfit snaps, and giving in and getting a taxi shortly after, Whoops!

Also a huge thank you to the lovely Laura from Fashion, Eats and Treats for these snaps!

The Khaki Waistcoat

A bit of a different location today. A couple of weeks ago me and my friend Joanna headed down to Lamberts Yard in Leeds to shoot some dancers for our final major projects. You can see a sneak peek here. While we were there, I got Joanna to do some quick snaps of my outfit. These were really dark due to the light window so have been heavily exposed so I apologise if the quality has reduced at all!

When I headed down to Arcadia for my MAA Assessment I sat in the waiting room eyeing up all the amazing outfits. One girl walked past a few times wearing this jacket and I fell in love. I left the building and headed straight to Topshop to buy it for myself. Great self restraint there ey. It's on the pricier side but so wearable, perfect with a long sleeve top on cooler days, or a stroppy top in the warm. It can be dressed up or down so nicely. I wore this same outfit but swapped out the jeans for a leather skirt and the boots for heels and was all set for a night out. Perfect!

A Little Weekend Round-up

Hey! Just thought I'd share a quick little round up of my weekend. I've had a mini blog break and social media (twitter) break as I've been spending all my time enjoying myself with my family, so apologies for the lack of blogging! I love that I've gone from apologising for not blogging for months, to apologising when I don't blog for a few days. Proud of myself there!

The Blue Coat

Back in the blue coat again, I still adore it. The appearance of sun has finally given me an excuse to wear sunglasses. These are dupes of Ray-bans and the first ones I had in mind when I picked out my Ray-bans for my birthday. I didn't actually like the real ones on me, so have stuck with my good old £3 version of the polarised lens, and went for a different style of aviators that I've shared already on Instagram.

The Fringed Skirt

The sun is shining and it's definitely feeling like summer is on its way!  So when Links of London challenged me to recreate my favourite Fashion Week look inspired from their Watch the World tool I had a head full of ideas. There's so many trends that I'm loving, but I really wanted to challenge myself and share something really different on my blog! The Watch the World tool is all about getting Fashion as it happens, you get a front row view of all the Fashion Weeks live as they happen, from the comfort of your own home. I love London Fashion Week and the excitement around Somerset House, but my bank balance doesn't allow me to pop over to Milan and Paris to mill around there, so this tool is the next best thing!

The Grey Coat

I am writing to you from my sick bed, so I apologise in advance if this post isn't hugely exciting or well written, wish me luck with this horrid illness. I'm definitely not going to survive working the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Waaahhhh.

There isn't much colour in this outfit. I try to keep my day to day outfits colourful and exciting but I've also been trying to buy more key pieces that can be worn with anything, which has resulted in far more black in my wardrobe. Summer hurry up!!!

Gluten Free Victoria Sponge Cake - Delicious Alchemy Mix

I knew when I received a box of goodies from Delicious Alchemy that I'd end up baking the sweet ones first. After the success of my Chocolate Fudge Brownies that the Vanilla Sponge mix would be amazing, so I baked up my favourite cake - a Victoria Sponge. Armed with a tub of Vanilla buttercream and strawberry Jam (did I mention I have a sweet tooth) I caused chaos in the kitchen and this is the picturesque result. Who knew Victoria Sponge's could be so photogenic?!

Beauty Matters Salon Launch - Garforth, Leeds

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the reopening of the Beauty Matters Salon in Garforth, Leeds. Beauty Matters is one of the oldest independently owned Beauty Salon Businesses in Leeds. Melanie Philbin established the brand in 1999, opening the Garforth salon initially, and then later opened one in Rothwell which is really local to where I live, so I'm definitely going to be paying a visit before I leave Leeds.

Staying Positive - My Mum's Story

I've drafted this post a thousand times so I doubt this will even get posted, but I really think it's time I share my experience and try to help others.

For my final major project at university, I have dedicated myself to sharing inspirational stories in the hope that it will benefit and inspire others. This was inspired by my own life experiences and ultimately my Mum. I'm a strong believer in positivity and paving your own path in life, nothing is set in stone and you really can better yourself if you try. Of course, some things are out of our control, but the way in-which we handle these situations, and the way we approach life after, are completely our choice.

So, here it goes.

Trying To Be A Waldorf

A few weeks ago I was shopping in New Look in Leeds, not the Trinity store, but the one by Sainsbury's that plays the really high pitched sound into the store every few minutes. Anyone?

I always rush around for this reason, and don't stop for long, so I guess I was lucky that someone stuck this coat in the wrong place. It's a kids coat, Age 14-15, shhhhhh, and it was just £15! That paired with the endless amounts of Gossip Girl I've been watching and I rushed to the till. Unfortunately, I had a very strange experience. First off, the sales assistant asked if it was for me, I was pretty embarrassed due to it being a kids coat, but said it was. She then went on to say "Yeah I tried it on and was going to get it, but then changed my mind." I mean, who hired you?! Basic customer service skills?! Oh well, I got a beautiful coat out of the trip.

#BLOGCHOCOLAT Hotel Chocolat | Roast + Conch

Be prepared to feel really hungry!

Last week I headed down to Hotel Chocolat in Leeds for #BLOGCHOCOLAT. I've been wanting to visit the bar and restaurant, Roast + Conch, ever since it opened but haven't had a chance, nor was I aware of the amazing GF options available. We were greeted with Prosecco and our first activity - Chocolate Tasting.

Gluten Free Chocolate Fudge Brownies - Delicious Alchemy Mix

When Delicious Alchemy got in touch asking if I wanted to try out some of their Gluten Free mixes I jumped at the chance. I've been loving featuring more food and recipes on my blog and have found such a passion for baking and cooking. This is the first mix I've tried and these brownies are UNBELIEVABLE so I'm really excited to try some more. (Victoria Sponge cake coming soon!)

Leather And Suede

I've been resisting posting another outfit post in this jumper, and admittedly this is really similar to my Tartan in Edinburgh post. I've been wearing it constantly still. It's so comfy, warm and cosy, and in mildly cold weather, I can simply wear a thin jumper or long sleeve top under, and don't need a coat with it. Perfect!

Gluten Free Pancakes - Original Crepe's

After making my Healthy(ish) Gluten Free Pancakes the other day I just couldn't resist making some more. I was fully craving just regular old pancakes in crepe style like I used to make with my dad every weekend. I had a go making them, using Gluten Free Self-raising flour again (I'm sure it's exactly the same as plain flour, it's just so fine!) and the result was something identical to the normal!

Healthy(ish) Gluten Free Blueberry and Chocolate Pancakes

Yep, these beauties are gluten free and pretty healthy (minus the chocolate chips of course, which are optional) and even better, just two main ingredients!! I've been making the good old Egg & Banana pancakes for a while and have finally come across the recipe combination that I love. Just in time for pancake day (or as a last minute treat for your loved one on Valentines) here's the recipe!

Gluten Free Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake

Since turning Gluten Free I very rarely have pasta. Personally I like to avoid the overpriced "Free From" section and purely shop around for things that simply don't contain gluten. This recipe has been an adaptation by my sister of a typical pasta bake, so that when I'm home the whole family can eat the same meal. I've been making it myself lately and thought I'd share it with you all!

Tartan in Edinburgh

Here it is, my final post from Edinburgh! I was there for 3 days but unfortunately the Saturday was windy and rainy and my outfit photos did not turn out great. This has been my ultimate go to outfit for comfy/cold days. This jumper is so warm that I'm too hot if I wear a coat with it, so it's perfect for this in-between cold weather we've been having lately! Paired with my Leather-look leggings (which are also surprisingly comfy) and a huge scarf thrown over and it's comfort all round.
